Oklahoma woman in serious condition after SUV accident

On June 26, a woman was struck by an SUV as she attempted to cross the street in a northwestern neighborhood of Oklahoma City. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she is getting treatment for her injuries. She is reported to be in serious condition. Authorities are conducting an investigation into the SUV accident, but have not formally charged anyone. According to reports, the driver of the SUV was placed in a patrol car and appeared to be taken into custody. There is no word on whether he was driving under the influence or if distraction or recklessness was a factor in the accident. It’s also unclear at the moment whether the woman had the right of way or why she happened to cross at that moment.

Because SUVs are bigger and generally more powerful than normal passenger vehicles, they can often do more damage when things go wrong. They can also be a threat to their own drivers. While safety standards have improved, SUVs still pose a risk of rollover and there have been numerous cases of vehicle defects that have led to serious injuries and even fatalities.

If you’re the victim in an SUV accident, you shouldn’t have to shoulder the burden of medical expenses alone. On top of that, if you’ve lost wages or endured pain and suffering as a result of a wreck that wasn’t your fault, it’s unfair for you to have to bear the brunt of the damages by yourself.

An Oklahoma attorney can take a look at your case and, if negligence is apparent, may be able to help you get compensation for your injuries.
