22-year-old John Ketchum was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Garvin County.
According to the report, Ketchum was driving east along U.S 19 just west of Lindsay before the collision. It’s believed that Ketchum’s vehicle drifted left of center and struck a pickup driven by Michael Absher. Drivers passing the collision reported it to police and emergency personnel rushed to the scene. When paramedics arrived at the scene, they pronounced 22-year-old John Ketchum dead. After providing initial treatment to Michael Absher, he was transported to a Norman hospital where he was treated.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation and they have not yet released an official cause. Since this was a fatality collision, forensic investigators will check the data of the two cars to gain a better understanding of what occurred. Also, officers are asking the community to assist them in piecing together the accident. Impairment was ruled out at the scene, but the condition of both men will be tested by police. As the results of the toxicology come back, we will update the story.
