4-year-old boy is dead after being hit by uncles car

The state of Oklahoma is mourning the loss of a 4-year-old boy named Brayson Sims after he was hit by a car on Friday.

A report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Brayson was playing in a field behind his home when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by his uncle. The child’s uncle who is identified as 26-year-old Brandon Dowler is being investigated by police.

Although no charges have been pressed, police are not eliminating Dowler from fault. Certainly there are questions that need to be answered about the avoidability of the accident. The parents of the boy have not released a statement and police are unsure of Brandon Dowler was his legal guardian.

4-year-old Brayson Sims was pronounced dead at the scene due to his severe wounds.
