81-year-old Jimmie Boyd left dead after crash on Mayes County Road

A report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a crash on Mayes County Road resulted in the death of 81-year-old Jimmie Boyd. The report says Boyd was driving southbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign near U.S. 412.

After running the stop sign, Boyd’s car was hit by a car driven by Frank Young who was driving west. Frank Young had his wife Florence Young in the car with him at the time of the accident. Both were transported to a hospital in Tulsa to be treated for their injuries. Jimmie Joe Boyd was not wearing his seat belt during the crash

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash. We know that Boyd ran the stop sign, but the question of why has yet to be answered. They are also investigating how is condition for traces of drugs and alcohol. Frank Young’s involvement is also being looked at to see if the crash was preventable, but as of now the Young’s are the victims.
