Adair County, Oklahoma (December 27, 2017): One local Vinita, Oklahoma resident was killed and another suffered serious injuries as a result of a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, December 22, 2017. The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Susan R. Marceleno and she was reportedly one of three occupants in the sole vehicle involved in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by authorities and few details about the accident have been made publicly available at this time. According to reports an SUV traveling east on State Highway 28 left the road for unknown reasons and crashed into a tree about two miles west of Adair. Marceleno was a passenger in the vehicle and reportedly died at the scene. The driver, 75-year-old Lois G. Cox, also of Vinita, Oklahoma, was injured and transported by emergency responders to a hospital in Tulsa. Another passenger who has yet to be identified was also injured and has been treated and released from an Oklahoma hospital.
