A report released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that a 41-year-old woman named Brianna Flowers died after a three-car collision.
Police say Flowers was traveling down SW 29th street when her car began to veer left. This led to Flowers crossing into oncoming traffic where she collided with another vehicle. This initial crash caused Flowers to lose control of her vehicle sending her into a head on collision.
The second crash ejected Flowers from her vehicle and severely wounded her. EMTs took a while to arrive at the scene, luckily Flowers was still breathing and able to be stabilized. Emergency crews then rushed her to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition. Police haven’t released the condition of the other two drivers but they say their injuries weren’t life threatening.
Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash but they believe inattention to be the cause. However, they are testing the blood of each driver to see if any were under the influence of drugs or alcohol. While the investigation is pending, no arrests have been made at this time.
