Unfortunately, whenever pedestrians get hit by vehicles, they almost always suffer severe, catastrophic, or fatal injuries. Pedestrians do not wear any armor to protect their bodies from the impact of 3,000-pound (or more) vehicles. Therefore, their bodies are susceptible to head injuries, brain damage, neck injuries, spinal cord injuries, broken bones, and internal injuries. Some injuries require medical treatment for a lifetime, while other injuries are fatal. In this case, once investigators charge the driver for hitting this woman, her family can pursue a wrongful death lawsuit with the help of an experienced attorney. Losing a loved one in a pedestrian accident is a traumatic experience that no family should have to go through.

The most common cause of pedestrian accidents is drivers not paying attention to the road. Most drivers believe that sending a text, eating, applying makeup, or conversing with another passenger is harmless. However, that’s far from accurate because all of those actions take the driver’s attention off the road, which could cause a pedestrian his or her life.
