Truck Accidents in Oklahoma
Recent studies show that most truck accidents are caused by brake failure, which could have been the case in this accident. Studies also show that one third of all truck accidents occur because of service violations, such as failing to maintain logbooks or driving past assigned hours. These causes are the reasons why the federal government established specific regulations for truck companies to follow. Drivers are not allowed to drive for long periods of time without resting. Drivers are also required to document everything pertaining to the truck in a logbook so as to avoid complications. The police are currently investigating this truck accident to figure out what caused the crash. Depending on what their reports conclude, the truck driver may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit.
