Both drivers injured after serious wreck on Indian Nations Turnpike
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released a report about an injury collision on Indian Nations Turnpike.
According to the post, two vehicles were traveling south on Indian Nations Turnpike prior to the crash. As they neared mile marker 98 the two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and blocked off the road for EMTs. Both drivers were treated at the scene and taken to the hospital to be looked at further. The crash also caused the right southbound lane on Indian Nations Turnpike to be closed while emergency crews cleared the scene. It took about 3 hours for the lane to be reopened.
Police are looking into the crash and have ruled impairment out at the scene. Also, the weather was ruled out as sunshine has returned to Oklahoma. Inattention or speed was likely the cause of the collision. However, at this time investigators cannot say who was negligent. The data from both cars will have to be compared to determine each driver’s actions. This process is time-consuming and it could be weeks before the results are in. Luckily, both drivers will walk away from the crash with their lives. When traveling at high speeds on the highway, most collisions end in fatality.
We wish both drivers a speedy recovery and hope justice is issued soon.
