DUI driver that killed Gustavo Lopez finally arrested and sentenced

A 25-year-old man named Landon Horn was sentenced to prison for his connection with an accident that killed one person.

Police say the Yukon man plead guilty to the first-degree manslaughter charge, admitting that his intoxicated driving is what caused the crash. Horn was already out on bond for one DUI at the time of the crash.

Prosecutors say Horn was driving down I-44 when he struck the car driven by Gustavo Lopez. Police are still not sure what caused Horn to lose control, but they know he was under the influence. At the scene of the crash, Horn admitted to being high on marijuana and Xanax. This led to his decision making and reaction time being impaired ultimately resulting in the death of Lopez.

Now the Lopez family has some closure as their loved one’s killer has finally met justice.
