Garvin County, OK: Gubernatorial Candidate Hospitalized After Crash

Garvin County, Oklahoma (January 4, 2018): Joseph Maldonado-Passage, a former 2016 presidential candidate and current Libertarian candidate for governor of Oklahoma, who also goes by the name “Joe Exotic,” was hospitalized after a motor vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon, January 2, 2018.

According to a crash report prepared by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 3:00 pm at an intersection on State Highway 29, about two miles west of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Maldonado-Passage was traveling north on a County Road when he failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a vehicle traveling west on SH-29. He reportedly sustained shoulder and neck injuries in the crash and was taken from the scene to a hospital in Oklahoma City. No information regarding the driver and occupants, if any, in the other vehicle has been reported.
