The EMS transported the other passenger to the hospital for internal injuries.
Officials charged Pace with driving under the influence and second-degree murder.
DUI Accidents in Oklahoma
Driving under the influence is one of the leading cause of motor vehicle accidents. When too much alcohol absorbs into the human body, the mind and body become impaired. Reaction times are slowed, which is highly dangerous. Perception becomes altered, and vision becomes blurry, which makes driving safely impossible. Because drivers have a duty to drive responsibly, driving under the influence is a form of negligence.
Because one passenger is suffering internal injuries, a personal injury lawsuit could be filed to compensate for medical expenses. The deceased passenger’s family could pursue a wrongful death case since their loved one died due to another person’s negligent behavior.
