Le Flore County, Oklahoma (November 6, 2017): The Oklahoman reports that 55-year-old Sherri Smith, of Farmersville, Texas, died on Sunday morning, November 5, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident the prior afternoon. According to reports from Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers, the accident occurred on State Highway 1, a few miles west of Talihina, Oklahoma, when the motorcycle lost control and rolled over.
Sherri Smith was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by 62-year-old Edward Smith, also of Farmersville Texas. Mr. Smith was taken to a Fort Smith hospital to be treated for his injuries, and the current status of his condition has not been released. The patrol officers on site reported that neither victim had been wearing a helmet.
