Leflore County, Oklahoma (December 28, 2017): A Wister, Oklahoma man was killed in a fatal single-vehicle crash on Long Lake Road early Sunday morning, December 24, 2017. According to reports, 37-year-old Joseph Knight was driving a 2003 GMC pickup truck, heading west on Long Lake Road when the vehicle veered off the roadway near the Ridge Road intersection, about two miles southwest of Poteau, Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene just after 5:00 AM and, according to their report, the vehicle rolled over at least once before coming to a stop on its wheels. Knight was reportedly pinned under the vehicle for an unknown amount of time and was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports do not indicate that any other individuals were involved in or injured as a result of this crash. The accident is still being investigated and no other information has been made available at this time.
