The leading cause of auto-pedestrian accidents throughout the country is negligent driving, which includes speeding, driving fatigued, driving while impaired, conversing with passengers, and more. Pedestrians technically should have the right of way, but most of the time drivers aren’t paying attention to their surroundings even though they’re required to by law.

In this case, the driver knowingly struck the man and continued to drive off, which means he was either a criminal, had a warrant out for his arrest, in a stolen vehicle, had an expired license, no auto-insurance, or no current registration. Once the police find and arrest the driver responsible, the injured man could file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of an Oklahoma personal injury attorney.
