Although the cause of the accident is unclear, majority of car accidents are caused by negligent driving. Negligent driving comes in many forms, such as speeding, reckless driving, utilizing a cell phone, not paying attention to the road, and not obeying street signs. If investigators can prove this accident occurred due to negligence, then the injured police officer could file a personal injury lawsuit.
