Pedestrian Accidents in Oklahoma
Thousands of pedestrians lose their lives every year in Oklahoma, and unfortunately the number keeps increasing. Most of the time drivers are using their phones, conversing with passengers, eating, programming a GPS, and partaking in any other distracting behavior that takes their focus off of their surroundings. It only takes a few seconds of being distracted for a pedestrian to be severely injured or killed.
The police are currently evaluating the state of mind of the driver and whether alcohol and drugs played a role in this accident. They’re also checking the roadways for any objects, debris, potholes, or large cracks. They’re even inspecting the vehicle for mechanical issues and defective auto parts. Once they finalize their report, it’s likely that the pedestrian’s family will file a wrongful death lawsuit.
