Pedestrian Accidents in Oklahoma
Unfortunately, pedestrian accidents occur every day in Oklahoma for many reasons. The most common cause is negligence, which occurs when a driver decides to text, eat, groom, consume alcohol, or fall asleep at the wheel. There are some instances where pedestrians are partly responsible for causing an accident. For example, when pedestrians decide to walk in the street wearing dark clothing, they put themselves at risk of getting hit. However, drivers are still required to be on the lookout for pedestrians at all times, even in the most unlikely of places.
The police are currently investigating this accident to determine who had the right of way, and who will be held liable. Depending on their conclusion, the injured victim may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of an attorney.
