Oklahoma City Police are searching for the suspect in a hit-and-run collision that killed an unidentified man.
OKC police are looking for a new-looking, blue truck with no tags. They believe this is the truck that struck a man who was walking near SW 59th and Penn. As of now, investigators believe the pedestrian was walking outside of the driving lanes prior to the crash. Officer say the blue truck left the road and struck the pedestrian and then fled the scene without checking on the man.
Witnesses to the accident reported the crash to police and emergency personnel promptly arrived. Paramedics did their best to treat the man, but he could not recover from his wounds. Witnesses described the truck as being a newer model with no tags with likely damage to the front. With those leads, police are searching for the driver and believe they will be apprehended soon. Police ask residents to be careful because the driver is still out there.
Investigators are waiting to hear the driver’s side of the story before determining an official cause. They need to test for impairment as well as figure out if the driver became distracted. We will update the story as information is released.
