This morning, an Oklahoma Mustang school bus accident took place in the early morning. The bus was part of Mustang Schools and was involved in an accident on SW 104 and S Mustang Road while children were on the way to school. The Oklahoma City fire department reported over the radio that there were four students on the bus at the time of the accident. Only one had to be treated at the scene for what was considered a “minor” injury.
School Bus Accidents
You want what’s absolutely best for your children, which means protecting them safe from harm everywhere they go. What happens when a school bus driver acts in some negligent way and your child’s life is put at risk? School bus accidents happen in many ways, from other vehicles colliding with a school bus to falls that occur when a student boards the bus or trips that happen due to a dangerous condition that was present on the bus at the time.
School buses are part of a large public education system, which means that liability will fall onto not only the driver but also the bus company in many cases – further complicating your case in a variety of ways. Schools tend to benefit from certain protections due to the fact that they are considered as owned by the government. This means that you may have a shorter amount of time to file a notice of claim than you would with any other type of accident.
However, when a child has been involved in any type of accident, it is unheard of to let them go without in terms of compensation. Your child has a right to recovery, as even the most minor injuries can leave a lasting impact on their life. This is why you should always turn to the help of an experienced attorney when your child has been injured due to the negligence of another party. At the McGuire Law Firm, we care about your claim and want to help you or your child get the compensation you deserve. Give us a call today at 888-352-0624.
