One dead and two severely injured after a collision involving a Chevy Tahoe and Dump Truck outside of Marland

A crash between a dump truck and a Chevy Tahoe left one person dead and two others seriously wounded.

According to a report by State Troopers, a Chevy Tahoe was driving down U.S. 156 when a dump truck in front of him began to slow. The dump truck slowed because of a construction crane that was traveling about 20mph in the westbound lane. When the dump truck slowed, police believe the driver of the Tahoe may have been distracted.

The driver of the Tahoe hit the back of the dump truck at full speed after failing to slow down. Police are still conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash. Although the belief is inattention, police haven’t released evidence to confirm that belief.

As a result of the crash, the driver and one of the passengers was severely wounded. The third passenger in the Tahoe was not wearing a seat belt and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released details about the condition of the dump truck driver. As the story develops and next of kin are notified, we will provide updates.
