One person was sent to the hospital after a four-car collision on 161 St E. Ave.

Police say all four vehicles were traveling eastbound prior to the accident. A Mazda was one of the vehicles and the driver struck a Nissan which made it flip at least once. The collision left the Nissan in the middle of the street. The crash happened so suddenly, that a person driving a nearby Toyota Prius didn’t have time to stop and slammed into the Nissan. A few moments later, another vehicle crashed into the Nissan. Luckily, the driver of the Nissan escaped with minor injuries and their life.

A passenger in the Toyota Prius wasn’t so lucky and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The other drivers were all relatively okay and EMTs provided treatment at the scene. Police started an investigation into the crash, but as of now, no official cause has been determined. Police are leaning towards inattention as the cause but remain open to looking at any future evidence. None of the drivers were cited at the scene.

The eastbound lanes have since been reopened and but drivers are urged to use caution when driving. Oklahoma highways have seen many crashes this year and authorities hope to decrease this number.
