Tammie Swearingen and Carly Hunter killed in Pushmataha County wreck

Monday evening saw the death of two women Tammie Swearingen and Carly Hunter after a deadly collision between the two.  Police are unsure why Hunter’s vehicle went off the road, but they know her reaction is what caused her to crash into Swearingen.

Authorities say Hunter over-corrected when her vehicle veered off the road. This caused her car to enter a broad slide that crossed into southbound traffic. Once Hunter’s vehicle crossed the center line, her vehicle crashed into the front of Swearingen’s car. When the smoke cleared, both women were dead from their injuries.

Police are still trying to determine what caused Hunter’s vehicle to veer off the road initially, and her condition at the time is being investigated.
