A teenager died over the weekend in a UTV Accident. The accident occurred Friday night at approximately 10:45 pm near Grove, Oklahoma. That is when police say that six people were in a UTV, traveling on a golf cart path. An 18 year old was driving the vehicle, along with five passengers. Suddenly, the UTV spun out of control and overturned on the cart path. The driver and three 16 year old passengers suffered only minimal injuries. They received medical treatment and have since been released. A fourth passenger is in the hospital in stable condition. Unfortunately, a 17 year old girl did not survive the accident. Neither the driver nor any of the passengers were immediately identified. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
We typically think of accidents as occurring on the streets or highways. However, there are a number of off-road accidents which occur in Oklahoma on a regular basis. UTVs, golf carts and ATVS, to name a few, are some of the off-road vehicles in which catastrophic accidents can occur. Inexperienced drivers or improper operation can cause deadly off-road accidents at a moment’s notice. The passenger in this case is an unfortunate example of what can happen in off-road accidents. Our thoughts and condolences are with the victim’s friends and family.
