Drunk Driver Hits Police Car
Tulsa, OK (July 4, 2018) On Wednesday night, at 11:00 p.m., a Tulsa Police car was hit by a man who was driving under the influence. The Tulsa Police officers were parked helping a disabled vehicle on 11th Street. As they were assisting the vehicle, a drunk driver hit the back of their police car. The drunk driver preceded to reverse and pull off. He ended up hitting another car at a traffic light. He then pulled into an apartment complex and tried to run off.
Tulsa Police officers eventually caught the man and charged him with driving under the influence, hit-and-run, and resisting arrest. No injuries were reported.
Every year, DUI accidents cause thousands of people to suffer severe injuries or fatalities. Alcohol dangerously effects driving in a variety of ways, such as: impairs drivers’ thinking, and affects reasoning and muscle coordination. If a driver has a Blood Concentration Alcohol of over 0.08%, they’re more likely to be involved in a car accident, potentially causing severe or fatal injuries to others.
Drivers involved in a DUI accident should immediately call the police. The police will measure the suspected driver’s blood concentration. If the driver is in fact drunk, the police will charge the driver with a DUI, which will prove the driver liable and help the other driver’s case. Other parties could be liable as well, such as the bartender who kept serving the driver alcohol disregarding the his/or her impaired mental state. Having an experienced attorney will help victims receive compensation from all liable parties involved.
Drivers who suffer severe injuries deserve to be compensated for damages, such as property damage, medical expenses, and loss of wages from missing work.
At McGuire Law Firm, we understand the severity of DUI accidents, and commit to our clients’ cases until they are fairly compensated for their losses. If you, or someone you know, has been involved in a DUI accident, call 888-352-0624.
