Pedestrian accidents occur more frequently than they should, and the main cause is usually negligent driving. Studies show that 48% of accidents that result in pedestrian fatalities occur because of drivers being under the influence. The police are still working to determine if the driver that caused this accident was impaired, or if a different distraction played a role. Fortunately, the couple is expected to be okay. However, due to the extent of their injuries, it’s possible that they’ll need a lot of medical attention which could cost them thousands of dollars.
