A fatal crash near Broken Bow, Oklahoma claimed the lives of two people on Friday. The accident took place around 8:20 pm on US 259. Authorities with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say a 78 year old man was making a left turn into a private driveway. A second vehicle operated by a 26 year old man hit the first vehicle as it was making the turn into the driveway.
Six passengers were riding in the first vehicle at the time of the crash. A 16 year old and an 11 year old in the first vehicle died in the collision. Additionally, a 46 year old woman remains in critical condition at a local hospital. A 78 year old woman and a 16 year old boy are in stable condition. The 26 year old driver of the second vehicle was treated and released. Police noted an odor of alcohol on the 26 year old driver. However, no charges were filed immediately following the accident.
