Two people are injured after a collision between a motorcycle and car on U.S. 51

The eastbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 51 are closed after a collision near W. 137th last Friday.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s report, a motorcycle and passenger car. Police say there was only one person in the vehicle and two people on the motorcycle. Neither of the people on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Emergency crews were called to the scene where they treated the injuries for the motorcyclist. The woman on the motorcycle suffered the most severe injuries and had to be flown to a hospital for treatment. The man also had major injuries and was transported to a hospital via ambulance. Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash and are checking the condition of the drivers.

Police at the scene did not suspect signs of alcohol but they will be testing the blood of both drivers. The person in the car was unharmed and police took a statement from them. Investigators also interviewed nearby residents and business owners that may have witnessed the crash. The official cause was not released to the public because the investigation is still pending.
