Victor Evans identified as man killed in crash on S. Western Ave in OKC

Oklahoma City police have identified a 58-year-old man that was hit by a pickup in the southwestern part of Oklahoma City as Victor Evans.

Police say the incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. on the 1800 block of S. Western Ave. Officers say Evans was walking on the side of the road when a pickup in the driving lane began to drift. The driver of the pickup failed to correct the vehicle and struck Evans who could not avoid it. The crash violent and fatal for 58-year-old Victor Evans. Drivers passing the wreckage called the police but it is unsure if anyone stopped.

After an unknown time, emergency personnel arrived at the scene and began to treat injuries. 58-year-old Victor Evans was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle sustained major injuries. Police have not identified the man at this time. The unknown man was taken to OU Medic center where he was treated for his injuries. The extent of his injuries is unknown, but he is expected to survive.

An investigation into the crash is being conducted but at this time, an official cause has not been released. We offer our condolences the family of Victor Evans and hope they find peace.
