Pedestrian Accidents in Oklahoma
The main causes of pedestrian accidents are distracted driving, reckless driving, and negligent driving. Drivers are required by law to be aware of pedestrians at all times, even if it seems unlikely that pedestrians would be in certain areas. Despite if drivers have the right-of-way, they’re still required to be cautious of pedestrians roaming the roads. Whenever drivers try to use their cell phone, eat, program a GPS, converse with another passenger, or speed, they’re increasing the chances of potentially hitting a pedestrian because they’re not one hundred percent focused at the wheel.
Once investigators discover what caused the Jeep to hit these two pedestrians, the injured woman could file a personal injury lawsuit to receive compensation for medical expenses. It’s very sad and unfortunate that the injured man lost his life in this accident. His family could file a wrongful death lawsuit with the help of an attorney to help cover medical and funeral expenses.
