Teenager Suffered Fatal Injuries in Automobile Crash
Washita County, OK (November 29, 2018) On the afternoon of November 28th, an automobile crash happened on County Road EW 1200. According to reporters, a 16-year-old teenager headed eastbound on the road while another vehicle headed northbound on State Highway 44. The teen drove past a stop sign without braking and got hit by the other vehicle on the passenger’s side. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and flew the teen to a hospital via an emergency helicopter. Unfortunately, she passed away at the hospital due to fatal injuries. The driver of the second vehicle also obtained injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital. The accident is still being investigated but officials reported that the accident happened due to failure to stop at a stop sign.
Vehicle Accidents in Oklahoma
Every year, thousands of drivers fail to stop at stop signs for many reasons, the most common being negligence. The most devastating aspect of negligent behavior is that drivers and passengers could lose their lives in an instant due to not paying attention to the road. The police are still investigating why the teen failed to stop at a stop sign. There are other reasons that could have contributed to the crash, such as defective auto parts or hazardous road conditions. Our condolences go out to the teenage girl’s family as we understand how unfortunate it is to lose a loved one, especially in an automobile accident. There’s a chance the girl’s family could file a wrongful death lawsuit, and because the other driver received injuries, a personal injury lawsuit may get filed, too.
