One Dead in Fatal Injury Wreck
Westville, OK (November 7, 2018) On the afternoon of November 1st, a deadly injury wreck took place in Advair County on Highway 59. Officials reported that a 2001 Acura headed southbound on Highway 59 as a 2006 Honda Civic headed northbound. Apparently, 35-year-old Justin Sequichie, who drove the Acura, fell asleep at the wheel and veered into oncoming traffic. 40-year-old Stephanie Smith attempted to swerve her vehicle around the Acura but was still struck head-on. Emergency responders transported Smith to a local hospital, but unfortunately, she suffered fatal injuries. She also had a 6-year-old passenger in her vehicle at the time who was also transported to a hospital. Fortunately, the child is expected to recover.
Vehicle Accidents in Oklahoma
One of the top causes of vehicle accidents is falling asleep at the wheel, which is considered a form of negligent behavior. Drivers fall asleep at the wheel for various reasons, usually unintentionally. It only takes a few seconds of closing one’s eyes for a severe collision to happen, which is why it’s very important for drivers to refrain from driving under those circumstances. It’s so unfortunate that Sequichie fell asleep at the wheel and caused a serious collision that took a woman’s life and injured an innocent child. Smith’s family could work with an attorney to file a wrongful death lawsuit, and a personal injury lawsuit could be filed for the child.
