Truck Driver Killed in Crash
Yukon, OK (July 5, 2018) – Early Thursday morning, a truck driver died after his truck crashed into the Canadian River. The accident took place near Piedmont Road and Wilshire Boulevard. Police state the cab of the truck was entirely underwater when they arrived at the scene. The roads in the area were closed until noon due to a diesel spill. The accident is undergoing more investigation to determine the cause.
Unfortunately, thousands of trucking accidents occur per year and cause severe or fatal injuries. Most might be under the impression that truck drivers are always liable, but that is not always the case. Sometimes manufacturing companies are liable for one of the truck’s defective parts, causing the truck driver to lose control. Other times, bad weather conditions or bad road conditions are the cause of trucking accidents.
For this case, more investigation will determine the exact cause of the accident since no other cars have been reported to be involved. Depending on the evidence provided, the deceased man’s family members can determine whether they’d like to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit. The family could receive compensation if they depended on their loved one for income, emotional support, and/or caregiving.
